The number one question I continue to be asked during this campaign is where I stand on the future of the Port Perry Fairgrounds.
So I want to be very clear: I do not support selling the Fairgrounds or developing the property for housing or private development.
I support keeping the Fairgrounds as a publicly owned community asset while making thoughtful improvements that allow the property to better serve the broader community year-round.
The Port Perry Agricultural Society, and the Port Perry Fair, are an important part of our community and its history. I am committed to working collaboratively with the Agricultural Society to explore improvements that expand the use of the property while preserving the Fair and its important place in our community.
Keep and Improve the Fairgrounds. They’re NOT for sale or development.
